At the Strata+Hadoop World conference last week, I met with Pratik Verma, Chief Product Officer at BlueTalon, a Bay Area startup focused on big data security. As Pratik and I were talking, he explained some of the problems that arise when organizations collect more and more data, and they need to start thinking about exactly who should have access to that data. There’s a critical balance between realizing the benefits of big data environments and exposing the business to unnecessary risks, and it’s there that BlueTalon are making their mark.
This was fascinating stuff! So, I invited Pratik to speak at our next SF Bay Area Data Ingest Meetup, scheduled for 6pm on Thursday, April 21, 2016, hosted by the BNY Mellon Innovation Center in Palo Alto. I’ll also be there, introducing myself to the Bay Area big data community and talking about my experiences integrating StreamSets Data Collector with RequestBin and Salesforce Wave Analytics.
As well as hosting us, the BNY Mellon Innovation Center are sponsoring food for the meetup, so do come along, enjoy a snack and some networking, and learn more about securing data in motion and building custom big data integrations. Register here!
