Today, we’re proud to announce that we’ve completed SOC 2 Type II certification for StreamSets Control Hub, the first solution to let data professionals operationalize (design, deploy, monitor, and manage) smart data pipelines at scale.
The StreamSets Control Hub System was designed and implemented from the ground up to meet the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) criteria for security demonstrating that the system is protected against unauthorized physical and logical access, unauthorized disclosure of information and damage to systems that could compromise the information or systems and affect the entity’s ability to meet its objectives.
The StreamSets SOC 2 audit was completed by Sensiba San Filippo, certified public accountants and business advisors. The SOC 2 report, which is available upon request, assures that StreamSets’ systems and controls are accurately described, that the controls are appropriately designed, and includes a description of tests performed to verify that the controls are operating effectively throughout a specified period of time.
Why is SOC 2 important?
SOC 2 is a compliance certification awarded by the AICPA that demonstrates an organization’s commitment and ability to secure customer data in the cloud. While considered a technical audit, SOC 2 goes beyond that in evaluating information security policies and procedures as well. A SOC 2 report audits a cloud service provider’s internal controls, capturing how a company safeguards customer data and how well those controls are operating. SOC 2 reports help prospects and customers assess the risks associated with third party cloud services. It’s essentially the best way to know whether your data will be safe with a cloud service provider.
Why now for StreamSets SOC 2?
Since day one, we built StreamSets Control Hub to comply with SOC 2, and we’ve been successfully supporting large enterprises with our cloud offerings. We knew we were secure and would never jeopardize client trust by putting their data at risk.
That said, we want our customers to have complete confidence that industry standards and protections have been met. By securing our official SOC 2 Type II certification, we’re demonstrating our commitment to transparency. An independent validation and report on the controls we’ve built for our cloud offerings allows customers to see the proof themselves.

We’re proud to have received validation of our SOC 2 operational effectiveness, and are committed to annual SOC 2 audits. Efforts to secure additional compliance certifications are also currently underway.
