Technology Preview Functionality

Data Collector includes certain new features and stages with the Technology Preview designation. Technology Preview functionality is available for use in development and testing, but is not meant for use in production.

When Technology Preview functionality becomes approved for use in production, the release notes and documentation reflect the change, and the Technology Preview icon is removed from the UI.

Technology Preview stages display a Technology Preview icon on the upper left corner of the preview stage, as follows:

Currently, Data Collector includes the following Technology Preview stages:
  • Azure Data Lake Storage Gen1 origin - An origin that processes data from Azure Data Lake Storage Gen1. The origin can create multiple threads to enable parallel processing in a multithreaded pipeline.
  • Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 origin - An origin that processes data from Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2. The origin can create multiple threads to enable parallel processing in a multithreaded pipeline.
  • Azure Data Lake Storage Gen1 destination - A destination that writes to Azure Data Lake Storage Gen1.
  • Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 destination - A destination that writes to Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2.
  • ADLS Gen1 File Metadata executor - An executor that changes file metadata, creates an empty file, or removes a file or directory in Azure Data Lake Storage Gen1 upon receiving an event record.
  • ADLS Gen2 File Metadata executor - An executor that changes file metadata, creates an empty file, or removes a file or directory in Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 upon receiving an event record.
  • gRPC Client origin - An origin that processes data from a gRPC server by calling gRPC server methods and then reading the response returned by the server. The origin can call the unary RPC or server streaming RPC methods. Use this origin only in pipelines configured for edge execution mode.
  • Oracle Bulkload origin - An origin that reads data from one or more static Oracle database tables. The origin can create multiple threads to enable parallel processing in a multithreaded pipeline.
